Betty, thank you! ✨🙌 Today, Labour unveiled the renewed Women’s Health Strategy, putting women’s voices at the heart of care and tackling decades of neglect. The Women’s Health Strategy has been spear-headed to improve access and tackle inequalities across the women’s health medical system. The new strategy will ensure women are better heard and served across the healthcare system, with faster access to diagnosis and treatment for conditions like endometriosis and fibroids, improved pain relief standards, and new measures to hold providers accountable when women’s concerns are ignored. The Women’s Health Strategy Launch Event today in London welcomed a suite of guests, including our friend and MRKH advocate @bettymukherjee . Sitting down with elected MP @wesstreeting , Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Betty described MRKH as a rare and life-altering diagnosis, sharing her personal experiences navigating MRKH, and the impact this diagnosis has on the MRKH community, and those close to them. Today is just the beginning to break the silence, be heard, and feel seen. MRKH Connect is a dedicated charity providing support and awareness, and is proud to be the UK’s flagship organisation. Wherever you are in your journey. Whether you have joined us many times or never before maybe this could be for you. Our next online Connect with Friends peer support group is on Sunday 10th May at 7pm BST (UK time). When we talk openly about those difficult and sens When we talk openly about those difficult and sensitive topics, shame dies. A shame we may carry for a long time that suddenly feels eased or unburdened also by reading stories from those who also simply "get it" or being the one comfortable to share the story ourselves, our way. We love that MRKH is getting more mainstream media attention and this recent piece from Laura and her husband Daniel and little George, again brings MRKH to the fore. you may have seen them on TV this week too! These are amazing and courageous steps taken by individuals because it means something. Whether IVF Surrogacy is on your path, or one you wish to take, seeing MRKH presented provides not only awareness for the condition but also comfort and support for a community longing for more understanding especially from medical professionals. It's no longer a case of these stories being few and far between, and as we discuss these topics (MRKH and of course others) more there is no excuse for not having better medical awareness and support for all.
