MRKH Connect is a charity with a mission to connect those with MRKH all over the world. No one should feel alone, we are 1 in 5000 #mrkhempowerment ❤️

Living with MRKH ... is not easy and so many of u Living with MRKH ...

is not easy and so many of us wish there was more awareness of conditions like ours both publicly and more importantly, in the medical community.

Having to describe your own diagnosis to a doctor who has never heard of it can be triggering and difficult and it can be hard to express what MRKH means.

It's complex and complicated and also, individual.

This is why articles like this are so important.

Articles that shine a light and draw attention to it by drawing on information from the community through the work of @mollymarymcglynn and her 2023 film Fitting In, a must see in our eyes as the only MRKH film and one based on Molly's own experience, to the work of advocates like the lovely @ally__hensley peer organisations of which we are delighted to be featured along with our community peers @beautifulyoumrkh
@sumaavicoaching and @mrkhstars who are just some of the amazing peer support networks available.

Thank you Catherine Gianaro @catherine.gianaro for your thoughtful article 💜

‘I have found a safe space to be and a sense of ‘I have found a safe space to be and a sense of belonging’ - Youth Program Participant ✨

Technically, we don’t sit on benches at the Youth Program sessions (though we’d love to), as the program is facilitated online. However, the sentiments and goals remain the same: CONNECTION. 💜

Throughout the Youth Program we aim to discuss various topics relevant to the MRKH diagnosis, including:

🫶 The impact of infertility and future family planning
🫶 Identity
🫶 Relationships
🫶 Disclosure
🫶 Sex and pleasure
🫶 Self-care
🫶 Emotional responses to MRKH

We want all participants to get the most out of this program whilst also feeling informed, connected and supported by others. The program has been designed to help all participants:

🫶 Move towards a better acceptance of MRKH
🫶 Develop strategies to set personal and meaningful goals
🫶 Improve wellbeing
🫶 Build confidence with relationships
🫶 Create social support networks
🫶 Make new friends

This program is open to anyone diagnosed with MRKH aged between 18-25 years old who is able to commit to the program schedule which is 6 sessions, 1.5-2 hours each, every week for 6 weeks. In line with our funding, priority is given to those participating from the UK.

Infertility is hard. This week of amazing conten Infertility is hard.

This week of amazing content from @worldchildlessweek
is a reminder of that.

It's hard to process, and it's hard to explain to others what that feels like.

It's emotional, traumatic and importantly, so personal.

It's not something we often want to talk about or revisit.

Wherever your journey takes you, it's likely to be a roller coaster.

Yet by not talking about these topics it somehow feels more shameful to admit that it exists and that the "happy ending" doesn't look the same for everyone because society has a way of making us think there is only one way to have a family.

And that family always includes children.

But what if it doesn't?

Our ability to conceive doesn't define us. It doesn't define our worth.

Not everyone ends up having children, by choice, circumstance, or other.

We are all worthy and it's important we keep the conversation going.

✨️ NEW BLOG ✨️ As this year's World Child ✨️ NEW BLOG ✨️

As this year's World Childless Week comes to a close this weekend we want to share this blog by Director Charlie (@this_charlie_can) on the value of Community. Whilst not specific to WCW, finding your community at those most challenging times is so important and invaluable to how we journey onwards. For Charlie this has included the wider childless community because this is also important to her.

The main picture of this blog includes two wonderful childless advocates that Charlie met at the @thefertilityshow, Aisha - mindbodyrevival_coach and Sarah @after_the_storm_counselling, where they shared a panel together talking about Childlessness which is so often under represented at these events but no less important as a valid and sometimes only path. A beautiful panel that shows the value of these discussions.

Regardless of the community you find your peace with the important thing is finding people who get it and that you feel seen, heard and most of all comfortable.

Whatever you need, it's your choice and your path.

💜

If you have felt inspired by this or other experiences we have shared and would like to share your own and not sure where to start then we would love to work with you to help you share in the way most comfortable to you. Pieces can be one off, anonymous and in any form of media. We have an open submission for blogs. Read more at "Blogs" in our bio!

As we continue to explore the experiences of World As we continue to explore the experiences of World Childless Week, a beautiful person in our MRKH community answered our call to submit their experiences with being childless, and not by choice.

Here, titled “The Joke That Stings” is an honest, relatable, and stark observation of how conversations between friends can become so tangled in misunderstandings.

Here this is:

“I’ve stopped counting the number of times it has happened.

Visiting a friend who has kids and they’ll be sharing about how exhausted or how annoyed they are with them, or even worse, right after I’ve been vulnerable and shared how painful not being able to have a child is for me.

Then it comes. “Take mine”.

Those words that sting and cut me to the core.

The one thing I have wanted, yearned, cried and fought for the most in this world, yet, could never have, they just flippantly quipped about giving theirs up: a taunt in my face.

The stinging realisation that I was “heard” but that my suffering doesn’t really matter.

I stare sternly back and reply “Okay, pack their bags, I’ll take them now, for real, for keeps”.

Their mouths drop open as their faces turn white.

“Oh no, I could never give them away, I was only joking!”

This week is World Childless Week.💜 World Chil This week is World Childless Week.💜

World Childless Week aims to raise awareness of the childless not by choice (cnbc) community and enable every childless person to share their story with confidence. It’s for anyone who is childless despite their longing to be a parent because they have never been pregnant (for any reason), not carried full term or have suffered the sadness of a baby born sleeping. World Childless Week is here to support those who have felt the heartbreak of knowing they will be childless for life.

Some words of clarity, comfort, and honesty:

“It’s not fair nor unfair. It’s not to be pitied or disregarded. But, it is the invisible grief that most will never talk about. The inner infertility dialogue is that of subtle sadness, disguised aggression, and palpable fear. Whether you desire to be a parent with every ounce of your being, or you’re not quite sure yet — you are left questioning the evolutionary pot-hole in the road that threatens empty Christmas mornings and a razor sharp yearning to feel “that kick” for the very first time. So, there is only one thing to do — and that’s talk about it. - Ally”

If you have some words to share, we’d love to feature any quotes, words of advice, droplets of wisdom. Simply DM us today and we will feature your heartfelt message on the grid this week, along with love, support, and understanding.

Please, keep talking. ✨

From your hearty team at MRKH Connect xo
