March is Endometriosis awareness month. Endometri March is Endometriosis awareness month. Endometriosis is a long term condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows in other parts of the body, generally on organs in the pelvic cavity such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes and bowel but it can also grow in other areas including on the sciatic nerve. It is so much more than "just a bad period", Awareness of the condition is poor and diagnosis continues to take too long, just as we also find with MRKH. But did you know that you can also have Endometriosis if you have MRKH? Find out more about Endometriosis and the awareness raised during March, and throughout the year, through organisations like @theendometriosisfoundation who also have excellent resources on their grid and website. Let's continue to focus on women's health and improving awareness for conditions like Endo, MRKH and others to reduce stigma, improve medical care and resources and shorten diagnosis times. Our next online Connect with Friends peer support group is on Sunday 22nd March at 7pm GMT (UK time). These events are designed to be relaxed and informal with the chance to chat and share, or just listen, with friends old and new💛 As with all our Connect with Friends this is only for those with MRKH and all MRKHers over 16 are welcome regardless of where you are in your journey.
