Meeting others who get MRKH because they have been through it and are living through it every day is so powerful.

Connection is powerful.

This is what happened on Saturday.

We have been supporting the annual MRKH Christmas social organised by MRKH advocate and all round superstar @ellamaebeing / @mindovermrkh for a few years now by providing sponsorship to offset the cost for all attending as well as providing additional travel bursaries for those that need it. In our view, cost should not be a barrier to attending any MRKH event and as much as possible we try to address that in our own events as well as other initiatives we support.

These peer led events are a perfect place to meet others in a comfortable and relaxed environment and to have 25 MRKHers together in one space in London like this is so incredibly powerful.

Thank you, Ellamae, as always for your organisation and hosting, and thank you to everyone who came, we know it takes a lot of courage, especially if this was your first time 💜

We were contacted by Lilly, a school student from Australia who has chosen to do her independent research project on MRKH and has reached out for help to share her survey. She has an anonymous survey for anyone with MRKH who would like to share their perspectives.

"Hi I'm Lilly and I am a year 12 student from Colo high school doing an independent research project. I have chosen the topic of MRKH because I also have it and thought this would be a good way to better understand this diagnosis whilst helping shine a light on MRKH because it affects 1 in 5000 female births. It would really help me if you could please complete this survey about the feelings and emotional wellbeing of having MRKH. Let's be the artist in our own journey and use that unique strength to listen to ourselves as much as the courage to challenge those things that don't quite fit.

We are beautiful 💜

3 years ago we had the privilege to collaborate with our Italian Roki friends @guerriereroki and @designsbyduvetdays to make this artistic representation of MRKH and how it typically affects the reproductive system. This adds to the collection of other beautiful anatomical art pieces Jenna designs.

It was designed to celebrate our beauty, and we like to also think it shows the growth and ability to flourish despite the impact that an MRKH diagnosis can have.

MRKH (Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser) Syndrome is a congenital condition that affects 1 in 5000 female births. It leads to the absence or underdevelopment of the uterus, cervix and shortening of the vagina. The ovaries are not typically affected. There are two types. Type 1 as described above and Type 2, which is less common, where additionally the kidneys, skeletal, heart and hearing may be affected.

MRKH Connect is a charity registered in 2014 designed to connect those with MRKH together to ensure they don't feel alone. Provide support to those with MRKH and their families and promote education of MRKH to all.

We set up our MRKH and Intimacy page few years ago in collaboration with board certified Sexologist and MRKHer Nikol @eros.evolutionclinic to help address those questions that we may have been too afraid to ask or simply don't know where to turn to find the answer.

Going through a process like dilation is often lonely, scary even and being able to ask questions to others who have been through that process too is so important. It provides comfort knowing that others get it in a way that is simply not possible for those who haven't experienced it.

This is one of many questions we have received recently on the topic. Every path is different yet so many of us who have been through this have likely had a similar question at some stage, is this right? how long will it take?

If you have any concerns about the actual dilation process and your specific progress we absolutely advise you to speak to your doctor about it to ensure you are getting the best advice for you but do hope that our peer led resources can help provide comfort to support and reassure you that you are not alone and there are others who are, and have been, through this journey, and who want to help you along the way.

This is Louise Joy Brown, the first ever IVF baby. As the launch of JOY comes to Netflix across regions this weekend, we celebrate the science that has helped so many with infertility become biological parents.

Without the efforts of these trailblazing doctors/scientists, it just wouldn't have been possible, and the options available more limited.

We had the chance to watch the film last night and it's SO GOOD, beautiful but emotional so do be kind to yourself watching it.

Charlie and Ally had the chance to meet Rachel Mason the co creator of this film, as well as Alastair Montgomery, the second baby born to IVF (and the first IVF boy in the world) at the @fertilitynetworkuk
20th birthday earlier this year 💜
