Hi, I’m a 17 year old girl who had her whole world turned upside down at the age of 15.
Here’s just a snippet of my story and how it affected my view on life.
At the age of 15 I was diagnosed with MRKH syndrome this diagnosis came after a seemingly never ending load of tests. Some of these tests seemed completely pointless at the time, however knowing what I know now I know they were crucial in finding the right diagnosis!
This diagnosis also came after my GCSEs my parents chose to keep it from me until I finished them as they thought it might effect my exams (which it probably would have).
MRKH has completely turned my way of thinking upside down and honestly nearly 2 years on I still struggle with this everyday some of which are worse than others.
However what MRKH has done is made me realise that womanhood doesn’t just mean having kids or getting pregnant or having a period.
