✨️ NEW RESEARCH ✨️ We are very excited to share t ✨️ NEW RESEARCH ✨️

We are very excited to share this new research from Samantha Stephen who is a social scientist and an MRKHer herself, studying her PhD on the social response in the UK to emerging reproductive technologies such as artificial wombs.

Through a focus group facilitated by MRKH Connect we worked together to revise and discuss the interview questions and share perspectives from different stages, ages and cultures from our community.

This truly is community informed research where the community voices are critical to the outcome yet are often marginalised in such discussions. Favoured far below policy makers but without taking into account the view of those that such new innovations may support.

Discussions matter.

Whether you are not sure if this is for you, never heard of it (but curious) or very interested to learn more, all perspectives are valid.

Research will be in the form on one to one online interviews with anyone in the UK with MRKH. All outcomes will be anonymised. This research has been granted the appropriate ethical approval.

If you are interested to learn more then please email Sam directly where she will share more information also check out the link below 👇

✨️New Research Opportunity✨️ Rosa Toriello an MRe ✨️New Research Opportunity✨️

Rosa Toriello an MRes Medical Anthropology student of UCL, London has focused her research project on perspectives from the MRKH community after being inspired by the stories shared around the media attention on this topic despite having not heard of MRKH before that point. This sparked her interest to gather those perspectives to help inform future policy and support.

As an Italian herself she was particularly interested in the cross cultural perspectives between Italy and the UK for uterus transplant as a possible path to parenthood. Bearing in mind other routes for those with MRKH to have a child biologically, such as through surrogacy, are illegal in Italy, but not in the UK.

Participants must be over 16 and reside in UK or Italy. Choosing to participate is completely voluntary and should be done after reviewing all the associated information provided by the researcher.

What does participation look like?
The participation will focus on a conversational 45min interview designed to gather different personal perspectives on UTx which will be anonymised for collation into the research.

Whether you are interested in UTx or not, your thoughts and perspectives are still very much valid and we encourage anyone who might be interested to have a say on this topic to contact Rosa to discuss further.

We believe in the value of research to better understand, inform and improve services/offerings available to our community and beyond which is where we believe research topics like this may be of interest.

Whether you have been following us for long or onl Whether you have been following us for long or only recently, you have probably seen us share #mrkh5000in50, but what is it?

Well, it's idea born out of COVID that sparked something special. A challenge to bring people together, do something meaningful and raise vital funds.

50 days of motivation, connection and support. 50 days of inspiring each other and the community by doing something that also helps everyone who takes part focus on physical and mental health and well being and collectively raise awareness for MRKH.

Our goal is big...to collectively raise £5000. Allowing us to continue to offer free services through Connect to anyone affected by MRKH and offset travel to allow for anyone with MRKH to travel to a local event in the UK.

We are 1 in 5000 yet so often led to believe we are the only ones.

Thank you for helping us continue to shout louder
