It was a brilliant day, full of uplifting, informed, inspiring and thought provoking presentations. So, it made perfect sense to shine a light on this year’s upcoming event! What is MRKH ----> 💜 As we continue our drive What is MRKH ----> 💜 As we continue our drive for improved awareness of MRKH and after having the pleasure to talk to people all about it at the recent @thefertilityshow here is a quick recap! MRKH (Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser) Syndrome is a congenital condition that affects 1 in 5000 female births. It leads to the absence or underdevelopment of the uterus, cervix and shortening of the vagina. The ovaries are not typically affected. There are two types. Type 1 as described above and Type 2, which is less common, where additionally the kidneys, bones, heart or hearing may be affected. 3 years ago we had the privilege to collaborate with our Italian Roki friends @guerriereroki and @designsbyduvetdays to make this artistic representation of MRKH and how it typically affects the reproductive system. This adds to the collection of other beautiful anatomical art pieces Jenna designs. It was designed to celebrate our beauty, and we like to also think it shows the growth and ability to flourish despite the impact that an MRKH diagnosis can have. We are more than our diagnosis 🤍 -- MRKH Connect is a charity registered in 2014 designed to connect those with MRKH together to ensure they don't feel alone. Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide campaign held from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers.Volunteering is a vital component of UK society, with millions contributing their time and skills annually across Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland. MRKH Connect is fueled by the commitment and passion of our volunteers, both as part of the formal charity structure and those who donate their funds, time, loyalty, purpose, love, and awareness to make the world a softer and more informed place for all those connected by MRKH. We would like to thank all those who have ever crossed paths with MRKH, because together, we make the charity what it is today: strong, sustainable, safe. Featured are a handful of MRKH volunteers, but by no means, the only volunteers for our cause.
