We are our biggest cirtics, and loving ourselves can be one of the hardest things we can do.

Love doesn't have to be scarier when it's towards ourselves even though it can be how it feels, but it is a way to acknowledge who we are in the same way we show love for others.

Love isn't perfect, but it is unconditional. Love doesn't solve everything, but it can help us feel happy and confident even on those days we feel so much less than that.

What if we sprinkled ourselves with a little more love now and then?

Danielle reached out to us to ask if we had one for her salon as she ends up talking about MRKH a lot to her clients and we of course said YES!

This week is Mental Health Awareness week and this

This week is Mental Health Awareness week and this year's theme is #momentformovement.

What better opportunity to reshare this reel from @this_charlie_can who is raising money for MRKH Connect by doing The Wall challenge on June 15/16th (find out more in our bio!).

And for her, exercise has been a big part of her journey and helped her find a way to heal as well as to raise awareness too.

Finding time to move in whatever way works for us is so important but not always easy when days are tough.

The impact of MRKH on our mental health is not to be underestimated and it can be hard to find the motovation. Sometimes a walk round the block or a dance in front of the tv to our favourite song can give such a boost and be something we can work in to our permanenr self care routine.

We get a lot of questions about menopause and how it affects us if we have MRKH. It was also a big discussion topic in the support group we went to yesterday as well.

So we are resharing an oldie but a goodie where we teamed up with some professionals to give some advice on the topic.

What is the menopause?

Well it basically means the stopping of periods - Meno = menstruation and Pause = stop and the average age for onset of the menopause is 51.

The menopause occurs because the ovaries no longer produce eggs or the hormone oestrogen and the change is gradual. Since those with MRKH do not have periods it may not be obvious but we can look out for other signs too. Whilst some may have no symptoms at all.

If you have any concerns or any questions, then do go and see your doctor who can run some tests and provide advice 🤍

This place holds a space in many UK MRKHer memories, and what it means to us may be different. Today, though, it was one of their MRKH patient support groups.

Our team don't often get a chance to meet in person so these rare occasions where some of us can be together (this time Shelley, Charlie and Michelle) are special especially when the whole focus of the event is support and information, which is at the core of what we do at Connect as well.

We value the medical advice and guidance as much as we do peer support, they are not independent of each other. So, being able to talk today about MRKH, fertility, dilation, mental health, and the menopause and have those important questions answered is invaluable.

Thanks to the QCCH team @imperialnhs for another great support group and a great chance to meet friends old and new, including the lovely Aysha and Claire 💜

We often talk about the impact, fear, and outcomes of an MRKH diagnosis. Any disclosure, be it with a family member, friend or partner (or all of the above), can be extremely difficult and confronting. Sometimes, no two disclosures are the same, and as a community, we all have different methods and processes. So… we want to dig a bit deeper and ask this question:

What is the first sentence you use when you disclose your MRKH diagnosis to a partner, family member or close friend (or all of the above!)?

This post could really help someone navigating this process for the first time or even those who have disclosed before but may benefit from other ways.

Last night, MRKH Connect hosted our online peer support group event, where the MRKH Connect dived into an informal, open and honest chat.

Together we talked about ways in which we can support one another, the hurdles we all face when it comes to navigating MRKH and the ways to find moments of peace, hope and understanding.

Discovering people who “get it” can be a game-changer when learning how to live with MRKH, and the best part: lifelong friendships can be formed.
